MATTI
SCHMID

ABOUT

Matti began to play golf at an early age. While entering the University of Louisville, Kentucky, he was the No. 1 ranked amateur in Germany and leading member of the German National Golf Team, culminating in winning the European Amateur Championship in 2019 & 2020 as well as the European Amateur Team Championship in 2020. Low competitive round as an amateur: 62 (-10).

Following his success, he earned himself valuable spots on the PGA and European Tour. Matti participated in the 2021 Arnold Palmer Invitational, 2021 US Open, 2021 Porsche European Open, 2021 BMW International Open and last but not least the prestigious 2021 Open Championship – his final tournament as an amateur.

After turning Pro in July 2021 Matti secured his DP World Tour playing privileges in only 7 starts on the European Tour.

Matti Schmid is the 3rd German player in history to earn back to back playing privileges on both PGA Tour and DP World Tour in his ‘Rookie’ season as well as in his 2nd year on Tour.

ABOUT

Matti Schmid is one of Germany’s rising golf stars, known for his consistency off the tee, precise iron play, and calm presence under pressure.

After an impressive amateur career — highlighted by back-to-back European Amateur Championship titles in 2019 and 2020, along with a European Amateur Team Championship victory in 2020 — Matti quickly made his mark on the golfing landscape. As an amateur, he competed in prestigious professional events such as the U.S. Open, Arnold Palmer Invitational, and The Open Championship before turning professional in July 2021.

In just seven starts on the European Tour, Matti secured his DP World Tour card and was honored with the Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year Award in the 2021 European Tour season. He became only the third German in history to earn consecutive playing rights on both the PGA Tour and DP World Tour.

In 2023, Matti earned his place on the Korn Ferry Tour and later that year, advanced directly to the PGA Tour for the 2024 season. He wasted no time in proving himself, with highlights including a tied 3rd place finish at the 2024 Shriners Children’s Open and a runner-up performance at the 2025 Charles Schwab Challenge, where he finished 11-under-par, narrowly missing victory by a single stroke. By May 2025, he reached a career-high as World No. 76.

Matti continues to compete at the highest level, including this years appearances at The Open Championship and the FedEx Cup Playoffs, solidifying his place among the game’s top young professionals.
